Kara Dodge Photography is a professional studio and on-location photographer, dedicated to capturing the real you through your portrait photography experience. Our studio is based in Muskegon, and we also travel all over Michigan for portrait sessions.

I take pride in being able to take awkwardness out of posing for the camera and make photo sessions enjoyable and fun, creating a mix of posed and “un-posed” candid images. I will direct you throughout the session to bring out your most flattering angles so you can never say “I’m not photogenic”.

I’m here to make the entire experience relaxed, intentional, and truly personal—From wardrobe to wall art, every part of your portrait session is thoughtfully curated. I work with West Michigan families and seniors to create timeless images and heirloom artwork that reflect the moments in all seasons of life.

1) Planning Consultation

We’ll begin with a one-on-one planning consultation where we’ll discuss your vision, select a location, and finalize wardrobe styling. Whether it’s a family session or senior portraits, I’ll guide you through every detail to ensure a cohesive and stress-free experience.
2) Session Day

On the day of your session, you can simply enjoy the moment. I’ll provide gentle direction while capturing authentic, natural images that celebrate your connection, personality, and story.
3) Artwork Appointment

After your session, we’ll meet to view your final images and choose your favorites. Together, we’ll design custom artwork—albums, prints, and wall displays—to preserve your portraits in a way that fits beautifully in your home.
4) Delivery & Installation

Our finished pieces are delivered ready to enjoy. From professional framing to luxurious albums, everything is taken care of—so your portraits become part of your home and your legacy.
